I recently had the pleasure of brunching with some of my fellow mommies of the San Diego Mommy Blogger Tribe at Breakfast Republic in Encinitas. This girl LOVES to brunch, but add in some of my favorite mamas at one of my favorite brunch spots and it was really an awesome morning.
I’ve never been to the Encinitas location, but it did not disappoint. It has the same cool, casual and fun vibe that is perfect for a girls morning, a family outing, or just a quick snack and excellent cup of coffee.
And the coffee is so good. Nice and strong but full of flavor. As a working mama of 2, one of which has a vendetta against sleep, I need my coffee. Throw in some freshly baked coffee cake and diced strawberries and I am in mama heaven.
But the entire menu is really great. I haven’t gotten to taste everything yet (believe me, I’m trying!) but not one dish has failed to impress. Whether you like a Benedict, a frittata or, like me, French toast (stuffed with peanut butter and topped with bacon and bananas foster…swoon!), they have something for everyone and it is ALL delicious.
This location was very open and bright and so inviting. We just had to prolong our brunch with some chatting and, yes, more coffee. I think it’s my favorite location thus far. Parking is much easier than at liberty station or north park and had room to roll a stroller – a concern I always have, even though I was lucky enough to be baby free that day – whereas the other two did not. This is probably going to be our go-to location from now on.
Our server was lovely, as they always are. We’ve always gotten stellar service at Breakfast Republic, something that ranks high in my book. The staff on the whole are just very pleasant and upbeat, which just makes your meal even more enjoyable.
Needless to say, our first SDMBT brunch was a huge success and a fantastic time. Many thanks to Breakfast Republic for hosting! There’s SEVEN locations in San Diego to choose from, so no matter where you are, there’s one close by. Thank goodness. Cuz that French toast was to die for and I may need it again very, very soon.
